As of 2022, my current book in progress is titled, “Jeremy Runes”. This story is told from the perspective of Corrin Brookdale, a young woman on the hunt for a impossible interview that will help her break into the male dominated world of journalism. This is a historical fiction novel set in the 1800s, that I am so excited to share with you all! This weekend though, I decided I wanted to give my other main character a chance to shine. That’s why I’m starting the Character’s Journal series where I allow all of my character’s to voice their thoughts!

The Journal Pages
Because this story is set in the 1800s, I wanted the journal pages to have a classic feel, with a hint of adventure. So, I began collecting my paper based on the idea of old leathers, and maps. As I was collecting these, I came across some leaf transfer stickers that worked perfect for an extra flair! See, I’ve decided that Jeremy Runes is not only a bit of a goofball, he also pays attention to the little details. That’s why the leaf has been added. It’s there to suggest that’s he’s collected this leaf and intends to study it, or simply enjoy it’s beauty.
To add to the classical feel, I’ve been practicing with wax seals and created a unique stamp for Jeremy Runes. It’s simple, but I think it adds that little extra something. How about you?
The Story From Jeremy Runes
Captain’s log number 458
“In a strange turn of events involving Traveler, two Tigers, and a raid from some years ago, I seem to have acquired a new crew member. Surprisingly enough, she’s also a woman. Now I do realize most captains in my position would’ve thrown her off his ship the moment he laid eyes on her. Really though, since when have I ever been like the captains of my era?”
“Besides the point of my generally different attitude towards polite society, there’s something about this Corrin Brookdale. Her mannerisms, the way she holds herself, but most importantly, her determination. I fear, out of all the people I’ve encountered, she may be the one to reach my deepest secrets. At what cost though? No, I swore my past would remain in the past, not only for my sanity, but also, for the safety of those around me. I’m sorry to disappoint Ms. Brookdale, but your biography of Jeremy Runes may be shorter than you had hoped.”
The Analysis Of Jeremy Runes
As I mentioned earlier, this story is written from the perspective of Corrin Brookdale. That being said, I found it really interesting to write from her subject’s point of view. With his mysterious background and hidden talents, he tends to be more cautious than most, while simultaneously being quite the goofball.
