Hi there! My name is Sarina, and I’m the writer. I live in a little desert town in the middle of nowhere, and I grew up with my imagination as my best friend. All my life, I’ve dreamt up stories and adventures as easily as I could breathe, but what else is there?
As a homeschooled only child, my adventures in real life were endless. To start, I’m pretty sure I was born with a love of nature. As I got older, that love of nature has blossomed into a passion for gardening, taking microscopic pictures, and of course collecting a multitude of rocks for the little chaotic dragon part of my brain.
What came next was becoming completely enamored with travel. Considering though how expensive it is, I had to become resourceful and frugal to say the least. In developing those skills however, I ran smack dab into so many new opportunities. One of which was selling collectable coins, another was learning to cook, and last but certainly not least , was being taught wood working by my tough as nails warm as whiskey grandpa.
In the end though, I’ve always come back to writing. To me writing is a way of digesting my experiences, seeing new perspectives, and just plain letting my brain ping pong using the events of the day as inspiration. I would say in some strange way that my love of reality is what drove my passion for creating fictional worlds. You’ve got to love a good contradiction! So, when I was staring down the end of my high school days, I decided I was going to be a writer, an author, a novelist. That’s why I went to the Institute of Children’s Literature and that’s why you’re reading this today.
